The KBS (Knappschaft-Bahn-See) operates rehabilitation clinics across Germany and was in need of individual promotional films for each location. In late July, the film crew, which included myself, Alex, and the talented cameraman Michael Kremtz, embarked on a special journey to film on Borkum Island. Working alongside photographer Viviane Wild, we were tasked with creating engaging content for KBS's online presence, which involved capturing several interviews and cutaway shots for the promotional film of the Borkum clinic. As a camera assistant, I supported the team by helping set up the shots, fine-tuning the lighting, and pitching in wherever necessary.

The shoot proved to be an unforgettable experience for both me and the film agency, as many scenes were filmed outdoors, amidst the constantly changing weather patterns on the North Sea. We had to carefully time the perfect moments for filming, capturing a range of activities such as Nordic walking on the beach, interviews with medical staff directly on the dunes, and stunning cutaway shots of the island, which all added a tremendous amount of dynamic footage to the shoot. Personally, I cherished the constant variety that the shoot offered, but it also taught me the importance of planning and having a well- structured concept in place. After two exhilarating but challenging days, we returned to Dresden, where Alex and I poured our creativity and skills into editing the footage. Together, we produced one of my favorite films during my time at the film agency, and I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of such a rewarding production.
